Text alignment

Postby vmgobinath » Tue Feb 23, 2021 4:26 pm

Hi,
I am new to latex.

My latex lines :
\begin{rubric}{References}

%{\large Available on Request\par}
1. Dr. ABC
\\ Associate Professor, Mechanical, Engineering Department \par
%\\ Head of EGE group, Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering,\par
\\ ABC University, Montréal, Canada. \par
\\ \makefield{\faEnvelope[regular]}{\texttt{abc@univ.com}}

\end{rubric}

I am getting output like below RIGHT SIDE ALIGNMENT

......................................................... 1. Dr. ABC
Associate Professor, Mechanical, Engineering Department
............................ABC University, Montréal, Canada
...................................................abc@univ.com

I don't know why it s coming like this.

But I want LEFT SIDE alignment like below

1. Dr. ABC
Associate Professor, Mechanical, Engineering Department
ABC University, Montréal, Canada
abc@univ.com

Please guide me on how to make it left side alignment.

My current latex lines :

\begin{rubric}{References}

%{\large Available on Request\par}
1. Dr. ABC
\\ Associate Professor, Mechanical, Engineering Department \par
%\\ Head of EGE group, Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering,\par
\\ ABC University, Montréal, Canada. \par
\\ \makefield{\faEnvelope[regular]}{\texttt{abc@univ.com}}

\end{rubric}

CURRENT OUTPUT: RIGHT SIDE ALIGNMENT

......................................................... 1. Dr. ABC
Associate Professor, Mechanical, Engineering Department
............................ABC University, Montréal, Canada
...................................................abc@univ.com

REQUIRED OUTPUT: LEFT SIDE ALIGNMENT

like below

By default, LaTeX sets text justified, not right aligned.

Well, I don't know which class or package defines a rubric environment, but I'd try \raggedright just after beginning that rubric environment.
