Is there a way of opening files via templates in Winshell? Or is one just supposed to open the template file itself and annoyingly rename it via a "save as" command each time they make a new document?

I can't see were WinShell offers to open templates that are delivered with this program. You may clarify what you consider in this context a template and what you exactly want to do.

I was hoping for something like TeXnicCenter's "New from Template" menu command that allows you to select from a variety of templates for starting a new document. As far as I can tell, in Winshell you have to navigate to a folder where you keep templates and open one, then "save as" to change the file name. It's not a big deal.

Hi,

WinShell offers "Macros". With that you can make your own templates.
