You could use the booklet package: https://ctan.org/pkg/booklet is the link to CTAN with information and documentation, but you can install it using your TeX package manager. Perhaps it's already installed.

An alternative would be pdfjam, which is a frontend to pdfpages. An package pfarrei also provides a very simple
a5tpa4.tlu (in TeX-Live available as a5toa4 script), that is also pdfpages based. This is also available as MiKTeX package.Sorry, but I can no longer participate here as the administrator is trampling on my wishes on one of his other platforms.
