Hi guys
I'm having a problem. I can't add my own words to the dictionary.
I try to right-click the word and then choose "Add". It helps for the moment, but when I restart TexnicCenter the word/words ain't recognized again.
What should I do?

I am having the same problem. It seemed to work at one time, but now I can't seem to add any more words to my user dictionary. It is using my user dictionary for checking however. Does this make any sense?

It seems that the user needs to explicitly point TeXnicCenter to a custom dictionary where "new" words will be stored.
Go to Options >> Spelling. Then at "Personal dictionary" select the location for the custom dictionary (for example, C:\Program Files (x86)\TeXnicCenter\Language\custom.dic)
Now when you right-click and select "add" all the new words will be written into the personal dictionary (custom.dic) when you close TeXnicCenter.

Yepp!
I't worked out fine.
Thanks

I found that just creating a personal dictionary as a plain file didn't work. I also had to put a 0 on the first line. Then, after restarting TeXnicCenter, 'Add' would add words as expected.

I might be retarded but I did everything you specified and this thing still doesn't work, which drives me crazy, I even installed a new dictionary but nothing happened really. Any further advice??

Hi Josue,
welcome to the forum!
The previous posts in this topic were of 2007, maybe the other user's don't see your question anymore.
I don't have TeXnicCenter, I work with TeXworks. But I gladly help with any LaTeX related questions you might have. Feel free to open a new topic at any time.
