Rename Project

Postby frfrst » Mon Mar 04, 2013 9:49 pm

Hello Community.

I've created a project in TeXnicCenter and it works just fine. However I want to rename it. Just changing the file name in the folder where it's saved causes a problem, even if I rename all of the files that were created by TeXnicCenter.

Can anyone explain me how to change the Name of the Project file (*.tcp)?

Thanks in advance

It works here if I just rename the .tcp file. What is the problem in your case?

I've also tried to rename/reuse an existing project in LaTeX - when I clicked "Build Current File" after renaming the tcp file, it gave me an Error though.

So here is what I've done:

0.) Backup your project (seriously - do it!)
1.) Open your project
2.) Click "Build | Clean Project" and OK
3.) Close TeXnicCenter
4.) Go to the project folder
5.) Rename all files in the project folder to the same, desired project name
6.) Open every single file in the project folder, and replace every occurance of the old project name with the new one (search for the old name with the search function of your editor) - avoid typos!!!
7.) Save every single file after editing it
8.) Open your Project in TeXnicCenter again
9.) Click "Build Current File" (maybe several times)
10.) Finish - everything should be super beautiful and renamed now
