Postby george216 » Sat Aug 21, 2010 2:46 am

Dear friends,
I use texmaker 2.0 for windows, when I compile my thesis using toolbar: pdflatex view pdf, I don't get a file pdf for my thesis.
I use also: quick compilation view dvi, I get nothing.
I don't know where's the problem.
can you please help me. Many thanks in advance.

Hi George,

welcome to the board!
Please post the produced file with the extension .log as attachment here. It contains errors and warning. Perhaps we could tell you more then.

Thank you very much Stefan_k,
the problem I didn't find also a log file. This is the first time I work with this version of Texmaker but I think the old versions are easier to manipulate.
Kind regards.

That file with the extension .log should be located in the same folder/directory like your main .tex document.
You could use the Windows explorer to find and to open it.

Thanks.

Another way, directly in Texmaker 2.0: hava a look at the screenshot:

Click the button "View log" below the word "Messages" to view the log. Check the infos there, perhaps copy&paste it here.

Stefan, after a long struggle, I viewed my pdf file but I did not see in my pdf file the table of contents and the list of tables. But when I introduced some corrections to my document, I did not get again the pdf file and when I try to compile again I can not because I can not touch any key in Texmaker's window . When I close the Texmaker, I can not open it again and to open it I have to restart my computer. I doubt that my antivirus software, which is Kaspersky 7.0, blocks the functioning of Texmaker .The log file is attached here.
