Postby Stef Pillaert » Wed Dec 18, 2019 10:34 am

Hello,
see the title of this topic. How can this be avoided?
Thanks,
Stef

Hi Stef!

Can you tell more details? Does it happen in text, in captions, in verbatim text, or in listing environments?

Perhaps post a small LyX file here, that shows the issue, and a pdfLaTeX export file.

Sorry, I should have been more clear: when I have a file with the name "text version 1.lyx", and I use sumatraPFD as the viewer for LyX ("ctrl-R"), the output appears in sumatraPDF. But it appears as a file with the name "text_version_1.pdf". This is a bit annoying, esp. if I want to save the pdf from within sumatraPDF.
When I export directly from Lyx (via file menu->export in LyX, so without viewing in sumatrapdf), then this doesn't happen: I get a file "text version 1.pdf".
(Maybe Win10-related?)
Stef

Hello Stef,

you are not alone!

But this is neither Win10-related nor a problem of Sumatra: On my pc running Mint19.3 Cinnamon / texlive2019 / Lyx 2.3.3 (from ppa) / xreader, blanks and umlaut and "ß" in the name of a file are replaced by underscores - see attached Lyx-example and screenshot of the folder.

So it's either a bug in Lyx or an error in our settings.
