Hello everyone,
I am starting with Lyx and I have troubles to use the View (Ctrl+r) option.
When I click on it, I have my acrobat reader that starts and on Lyx is shown : " Succesful preview of format : PDF" but I do not see anything on my acrobat reader.
However, the export works well.
Maybe the issue comes from the fact that I just updated my Acrobat Reader to Acrobate Reader DC. I actually installed Lyx a few months ago but I did not use it until now.
I am using Windows 8.1 and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
Does someone know where the problem come from ?
Tell me if you need to know anything else.
Sincerely
Thibault

Maybe the focus is just on a white part. Can you scroll up/down?
Can you export to pdf and view it this way?
Personally, i am not a LyX user and am not sure what could be the cause. Can you give version information of you whole setup, i.e. versions of acrobat reader, lyx and OS (windows 8.1), for our LyX experts.

The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Thank you for your answer.
No, I can not scroll up and down, I just see the home page of the acrobate reader DC.
Yes I can export to pdf and view it this way but the View is a way to get it faster so I wish it would work.
I am using Acrobat Reader DC 2015.008.20082, Windows 8.1 and Lyx 2.1.2.1.

I seem to recall that something like this issue was fixed for 2.1.4 (just released). I'm an Ubuntu user so I cannot test.
Or you could use SumatraPDF, which many Windows users seem to prefer.

Thinking back to my Windows days, i preferred Sumatrapdf. It was incredibly fast.

Hello.
Although I'm late to the party here I thought I just let people know that
I just had the same (similar) problem. It solved itself after playing around with the "view other formats" option. That is the toolbar button with a document behind a pair of eyes.
The problem occurred on a machine (linux) where texlive was missing the first time I started LyX. It is also my first serious encounter with LyX.
Best regards
Uten
