TeX Live 2017 releases

Post by danielvelizv »

After downloading and burning the TeX Live 2017 ISO on a DVD. I tried to run it in my PC but I had the following error:

perl.exe stopped working

Can anyone help me? I looked for this in Google, but no results were achieved...

Maybe you need to run install-pl.bat or install-pl-advanced.bat as administrator (right mouse click, run as administrator),

Do you mean run install-tl-advanced as an administrator?

Sorry for reviving this old thread but I face the same problem. It is not installed on Windows 7 and the installation stops. I don't know if I run Perl as an administrator!

Where should the problem possibly lie?

Don't run perl. The installation batch file runs perl for you.

Instead, run install-pl.bat or install-pl-advanced.bat as administrator (right mouse click in Explorer, run as administrator).
