Compiling has nothing to do with the configuration, it should change anything. Either you'r compiling wrongly or you found a bug. Actually I'm refactoring all the config read/write code in the moment, so perhaps I broke something there. You can look for the file texmakerx.ini and watch if it is chan...

Uihh, I moved a function to a new file and forget to include it then
It's fixed now. (at least I think so, can't test this under Windows)

By the way, is here someone who speaks French and willingly to check/extend/manage the French translation of TexMakerX?

Currently I use the old texmaker translation and add the few new feature captions using Babelfish and co, but that's pretty unreliable...

Have you tried my TexMakerX?
It has fully Unicode support and works on WinXP.
(To be honest, I don't know if it works with XeTeX instead of Latex, and if numerical character input works)

Are you sure you didn't declare the file to be the master document?

Really? That's great, but makes no sense either.
The message view/pdf opening should have nothing to do with the used latex compiler, and I didn't changed anything in the svn explaining the recompiling...
