Re: User tags and unwanted newline
The best way is to use one of the texmakerx 2.0 previews, all bugs of 1.9.9a should be solved there.
Otherwise you could edit the texmakerx.ini to remove the line break there.

If you're still looking in this topic:
You can now also download a 2.0 windows snapshot from the sourceforge files page.
Perhaps you also need to download iconv.dll (e.g. http://www.gnupg.org/download/iconv.en.html), before you can run it.

Re: TeXMakerX — How does "Use Tab to Move to Placeholder" wo
That's a bad named option, it only changes the shortcut between ctrl+tab (if enabled) and ctrl+arrows.
But in tmx 2.0 you can set every shortcut you want.

Why TeXMakerX cannot preview?
Thanks for this. I don't know what netheril's problem is or was, but Preview wasn't working for me either. When I went into Options > Configure TexMakerX > Editor, at first I didn't see this option, but then I clicked "Show Advanced Options" at the bottom and an empty menu item appeared. No option ...

Re: Where is those .cwl files
They are stored as resources in the exe, so you can't accidentally delete them.
But if you create a directory completion in the application directory, it will also load all cwl files there.

Re: Can TeXMakerX support Chinese characters?
That is something like a qt/windows/courier bug that the Chinese characters are larger than the other characters even if you use a font in which all characters have the same width.
But there is a workaround (which is almost was frabjous suggested above) :

Re: Why TeXMakerX cannot preview?
The preview is a little bit balky, but usually it works. But if it fails, it never shows an error message (perhaps i should change that).
The best is if you try to get a preview of something.
If you do this step by step, it should show a preview and then we can see what the difference is:

Re: Spell checking, again
I think in the new OpenOffice versions the dic dictionary is stored in a zip file called something.oxt.
So you have to decompress it, before you can use it in Texmaker
