Error: cls file not found

Just copy the template to your desired folder; so that cls and the main tex file are in the same directory.

\geometry margins do not compile Topic is solved

You are loading package typeare later. That most likely overwrites the geometry stuff.

Why is LyX not on Github?

If you know about the mailing list, why don't you ask there? Your question is off-topic here.

Unexpected blank page and text running out of the page

Welcome to the forum.

For a beginner, you got quite the preamble. You copied that from somewhere to save some time. That is a bad idea. It contains stuff you shouldn't do.

You only have sectioning commands in your document. Add some content, i.e. some text and your problem will disappear.

Texmaker vs. TeXstudio

Both are really just text efitors with some extra LaTeX-related buttons.
You don't need any to learn how to use LaTeX.

The decision which one to use is more of a "look-and-feel"-type. See which one is more comfortable for you to use and stick to it.

Description Doesn't Format Newcommand Argument Content

You explicitly avoid bold by using textnormal.
