You shouldn't use floating environments (figure and table) where they don't belong. Stefan was completely right in advising \captionof{type}{caption} . The float package along with the option H is not a very good idea. If you don't want your objects to float, simply don't use floating environments. ...

This doen't really solve the problem, since the were just "put away". Maybe try a Minimal Working example. This helps to isolate the problem.

Hi, i just took a look into your eps and it seems your inputfile is damaged at the right border. The blue curve is not as smooth as i guess it is supposed to be.

Hi, you gave us some information, this information would be much more helpful, if you would put them into a minimal working example using the code-button. This helps us to verify the problem and immediate testing is possible. Especially, since there is the Open in WriteLaTeX -Button. Your workaround...

I don't know right now what you need to do, but as far as i know, TL 2013 is still testing. But the official release should be coming soon.

If you want to do that you should do so in the whole document to avoid inconsistencies. Try giving the optional argument fleqn to the documentclass:

  1. \documentclass[fleqn]{article}

Clemens mentioned that you did not post any code, since you are new to LaTeX you really should read about Minimal working examples. Those examples help to isolate the error.

It is possible to get a frame around the function, but I don't want to mess with Thorstens code right now.
