How do you do that? I don't see in reference to my numbered examples in the AUX. And I don't really know what i means to have \ref catch the label, other than what I showed in my example. Currently my AUX looks like this, if it helps:
\relax

Numbered Examples in Linguistics
Hi,
I'm having trouble with referring to numbered examples in the gb4e package. When I refer to a labeled example, instead of example number I get '??'. It happened even when I copy-pasted the example from LaTeX/Linguistics :
\begin{exe}
\ex\label{ex1} Godzilla destroyed the city.
\ex\label{ex2 ...

Re: tipa | Fonts for phonetic Symbols
Ummm no, I just love clear, solid fonts, rather than fonts like Times New Roman. What fonts do work for tipa?

tipa | Fonts for phonetic Symbols
Well, it doesn't for me. I use the
options and my tipa output is in some other font.
Code: Select all
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[scaled]{berasans}
options and my tipa output is in some other font.

No, I know how to choose fonts. What I don't know is how to change the output font of tipa. Do you really do it through ?
Code: Select all

OK. It works excellent now. Thanks soooo much!
And say I want to change font? Should I simply insert
to the preamble? And where do I find a list of all font?

I copy-pasted your code into the preamble, and I definitely didn't call the geometry package. This is the file I compiled, and its errorlog.
I think the
I think the
\documentclass[english]{article}
is sort of default in my LyX, and for some reason declaring \documentclass
doesn't override it.- Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:15 pm

That's the error I get when typing your example. When I remove the
\documentclass{article}
, it works, but still with the tipa default font, which is exactly what I don't need.- Sat Nov 24, 2012 12:45 pm

Re: tipa | Fonts for phonetic Symbols
It works, but the result is not what it's supposed to be. It doesn't look nice like your example.
So what >are< the tipa options? And how do I call them? In the manual there's only T1, 0T2 and T3 as sample encodings, but none of them changes how the output looks like... So what's the idea behind ...

I tried. It doesn't affect the font. So I tried including the [T1] part inside the declaration of the package, like this:
\usepackage[T1]{tipa}
And the error message I got was:
the package tipa has already been loaded with options:
[]
There has now been an attempt to load it with options
[T1 ...
\usepackage[T1]{tipa}
