Placement? Picture leaves a blank area

Hi everyone, I am using the following to insert pictures in my file: \begin{figure} \begin{center} \includegraphics[width=0.50\textwidth, angle = 0]{Name.jpg} \caption{Text.}\label{Figure x} \end{center} \end{figure} The file is 22 pages, and most of the 12 pictures are working well, but two of them...

Re: A problem with compiling in Kile on Ubuntu

Unfortunately my version keeps saying 2007. My problem is that Kile is unable to compile my documents. Looking back I never tried compiling a non-package dependent :? Anyway, I now have xp installed, on which I depend for some programs. When my deadlines are finished in a few weeks, I will switch ba...

Re: A problem with compiling in Kile on Ubuntu

Hey guys, Thanks a lot, again! The path setting didn't make it work. I read somewhere that for the "new" Kile you have to change 3 paths? Anyway, I have a lot of configuration problems like these with Ubuntu, and I also have some deadlines now, so I don't have the time to wait until I conf...

Re: A problem with compiling in Kile on Ubuntu

To be honest, installing TexLive2008 was a bit of trouble for me, so the equivs will be even more work, as I am not very skilled with Linux. Frabjous, when you have installed Kile with the 2007 base, and installed TexLive2008 separately, how do you get Kile to use 2008? From your post I get two thin...

Re: A problem with compiling in Kile on Ubuntu

Hi Stefan (and Frabjous), Thanks! I already looked at that topic, and since I have deinstalled both kile and texlive2007, and just installed texlive 2008, I am going to try the equivs procedure. Can you explain to me what a control file is, and how to create one and make it big? I don't know that mu...

Wow good idea! Mine is 2007, so I will update, see how that works out. Thanks!

This is more a question for me to understand how various applications work together, but how will this influence the compiling in any way, as I have the packages installed now, although with livetex2007?

Re: A problem with compiling in Kile on Ubuntu

What program are you using to view the PDF? Evince (a.k.a. "Document Viewer")? Okular? Acrobat Reader? The embedded viewer? If you go to Settings > Configure Kile > Tools:Build, and select ViewPDF on the left, what does it show? Okular. Also when I convert to PDF only one page is converte...

Re: A problem with compiling in Kile on Ubuntu

Thanks a lot man! All the errors I have listed are solved :D I have two new questions though. 1. When I convert to PDF or choose viewPDF, only the first page is shown? 2. Kile doesn't give any errors, yet the citations are wrong. For example in the document I would say: cite{BassoWurtz1997}, and I w...

A problem with compiling in Kile on Ubuntu

Hi all! I am new to this site. I have been a Latex user for a while now, with MikTex and Winedt in windows. Because windows gave me a lot of problems, I switched to Ubuntu today. I allready had my thesis in Winedt, but needed to make a few adjustments. This is giving a few problems, I hope you guys ...
