Re: tikZ | Filled Rectangle with Border Topic is solved

Here is a simple document. When I compile it I get no black outline, only the gray rectangle. \documentclass[11pt]{article} \usepackage{tikz} \begin{document} \begin{figure}[!ht] \begin {center} \begin{tikzpicture} \filldraw[draw=black,color=lightgray] (1,1) rectangle (3,3); \end{tikzpicture} \end{c...

Re: tikZ | Interface between Surfaces

Thanks hugovdberg. That's a useful link. It's doing more or less what my 'interface' style does. It is acceptable, but not ideal. You're right, the problem occurs at the ends of the line. At one end the sloping line extends beyond the length of the base, and at the other, there should (or could) be ...

Re: tikZ | Interface between Surfaces

Here is the document It includes two problems: 1. slow compile if multiple \filldraw[draw=white,color=black, pattern=mystripes] are used. 2. I do not want the box around the rectangle \documentclass[11pt]{article} \usepackage{tikz} \usetikzlibrary{% decorations.pathreplacing,% decorations.pathmorphi...

Re: tikZ | Filled Rectangle with Border Topic is solved

Thanks, filldraw seems to give the same effect as fill. I still don't get the black outline

tikZ | Interface between Surfaces

I would like to represent the interface between surfaces as a 'hatched' line. The following code works but it looks wrong at the ends. [ interface/.style={ postaction={ draw, decorate, decoration={ border, angle=45, amplitude=0.3cm, segment length=3mm } } }, ] The ideal would be a rectangle filled w...

tikZ | Filled Rectangle with Border Topic is solved

I would like to draw a black rectangle filled in light gray
  1. \fill[draw=black,color=lightgray] (1.5,4) rectangle (3.5,4.5);

This fills it, but doesn't draw the outline.

What should I do?

tikZ | Style Definitions Topic is solved

I am creating many similar figures in a document and I wondered if it is possible to have a global definitions of tikz styles (e.g.UnitVector in the example below) that I can define at document level, but use in many figures in the document? \begin{figure}[ht] \begin {center} \begin{tikzpicture} [Un...

Re: hyperref | Start Windows Application

Thanks Kaiserkarl. I understand the security concern, but that is for the system administrator to sort out. It would seem strange if the writers of the hyperref package have taken on the role of deciding who can do what. I can do this in M$ word, and much as I hate to, I think the document will need...

hyperref | Start Windows Application

I'm want to allow my users to click on a link and run a windows (7) application. My code is: \documentclass[a4paper,11pt]{article} \usepackage{hyperref} \begin{document} \href{run:C:/Program Files/AMPS Batch Allocation/AmpsBatchAllocation.exe}{Run} \end{document} The cursor recognises the hyperlink ...
