The proposed packages definitely support multiple indexes. MakeIndex alone does not.

Once again. The Ad0be Reader is not recommendable when editing LaTeX documents because it is uncomfortable regarding forward and inverse search between source code and PDF output. It does not support SyncTeX and therefore is only usable for viewing (and perhaps printing) the finalized document. The ...

What about imakeidx or splitindex? Both support multiple indexes.

And you couldn't provide a screen capture of the complete first page right at the beginning? This upsets my original concept completely and makes authblk superfluous. At the moment I have no idea how to customize the footnotes produced by \thanks without interfering the footnotes of the document.
