Re: Equation numbering problem

Hi Andy, I completely agree with gmedina: you should use environments of amsmath. He gave the link to the user guide, just have a look: amsmath is highly recommendable. If you want to create an mwe: make a copy of your document, reduce it step by step, that helps to extract the problem. If there are...

Re: Equation numbering problem

Hi Andy,

I don't see the problem in the code snippets that you posted.
Can you provide a minimal working example that shows the problem?

I've seen it too - it's compiling, if extramarks is not used.
extramarks belongs to fancyhdr.

Chetoo, you might have also a look at l2tabu for new information concerning old/superseded packages, if you adapt your old documents.

Re: Encoding problems with PDF (when cut-n-paste Word) Topic is solved

Hi Jimisola, is the text quality lower after changing to T1 font encoding? You can compare the fonts, if you open T1 and not-T1 both with the adobe reader and look into document properties, fonts. The fonts should be type 1, not type 3 (bitmap). If that is the case, then you may consider installing ...

Hi, that really looks like plain tex, just compare with my last log: This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.30.5-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.5) (format=pdflatex 2008.3.21) 23 MAR 2008 19:49 If I use latex instead of pdflatex: This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.30.5-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.5) (format=latex 2008.3.21) 24 MAR...

Re: adobe acrobat instead of reader

Fine. Maybe WinEdt v5.4 just relies on the default file association for pdf files, and the re-installation overrode it again. Could have been possible too just to correct that association in the list of registered file types on Windows. But the reinstallation of the reader is a solid solution and no...

Re: adobe acrobat instead of reader

Hi Mike, I run a WinEdt 5.5 installation. But its on my old windows computer, now I am using KILE with Ubuntu Linux. So its possible that there is a difference in configuration. When I open the dialog Execution Modes , I can switch to the tab "Adobe Reader", the button for this is on top o...

Hi mwills,

check the settings in menu: Options/ Execution Modes, 4th tab "Adobe Reader", the filename in PDF viewer executable.

Re: spacing in verbatim Topic is solved

Hi Bender,

I cannot reproduce your problem. When I do the same, use the verbatim environment while using paralist too, the spacing is normal. Can you provide a minimal working example that shows the problem?

Re: Table: indent row

Hi,

you could use latex commands for inserting horizontal space like \hspace, \quad, ... it could be an alternative to use \multicolumn for males/females and simple cells for the other.
