minitoc Font, And, Width In multicols

Hi Kurt, if I add this to your code, everything is in Helvetica (phv): \renewcommand{\familydefault}{phv} Thanks for posting code! I and every reader who likes to make a suggestion that works, has to add by himself: \documentclass{book} \usepackage{multicol} \usepackage{minitoc} \usepackage{helvet} ...

Impossible to export to pdf

Hi David, welcome to the forum! If you got enough harddisk space, I recommend to install texlive-full. So you don't have to worry later about missing packages and searching in which package bundle it may be. That may fix it. You could provide the .log file to us, that LyX/LaTeX produces. It can be p...

bbding Error Topic is solved

Hi Kurt, indeed, I and others rarely read later posts in older already solved topics. It's better to open a new topic, for each single thingy or question. That makes reading and archiving easier. And, having a code sample helps us to test and to give you code for a fix. You post code, you get code. ...

bbding Error Topic is solved

Hi Kurt,

there is no superset.

Did you try what I wrote above? This fixes the bbding clash.

With or without serif ? Topic is solved

Hi, for body text in normal document I would always use a font with serifs, that's better for reading. Latin Modern ( \usepackage{lmodern} ) is a good choice (in general, with and without serifs). For headings, I prefer without serifs. The reason is, that headings are already big and bold and when o...

bbding Error Topic is solved

Regarding hyperref: indeed, it should be loaded at the end, because hyperref redefines a lot of macros of other package in order to add hyperlink capability to the macros. There are exceptions though: packages that actually rely on hyperref or add something to its capabilities. Stephen wrote on TeX....

bbding Error Topic is solved

Hi Kurt! In case of such a name clash ( Command ... already defined. ) you can undefine the affected macro or symbol, before you load the other package that contains a macro or symbol with the same name. This fixes your document: % before you load bbding \let\Cross\relax \let\Square\relax % now you ...

Glossary not appearing Topic is solved

It is a command with the same name, a perl script, that has to run.

Glossary not appearing Topic is solved

Hi Cham,

you need to run makeglossaries or makeindex, not just do LaTeX runs. It's described in the glossaries manual, can you find it there?
