superscript alignment

Hi vit, welcome to the forum! You could use \vphantom that reserves invisible vertical space that the superscript will use. \documentclass{article} \usepackage{amsmath} \begin{document} \[ \dot{\boldsymbol{W}}\vphantom{W}^{-1} + \boldsymbol{W}^{-1} \] \end{document} superscript.png Stefan

using plot in path draw

Hi Kent! I think it's caused by illegal characters in the document source, that's possibly not visible in your editor. That's what I see in TeXworks: tikz-error.png I get the same error as you: Package tikz Error: Giving up on this path. Did you forget a semicolon? But once I removed those character...

Problem with yap.exe after installing latest Miktex Topic is solved

Hi! No idea yet. Do you have any log file? On the other hand, TeXnicCenter is not really maintained since several years. Would you like to try another editor, with a built-in PDF previewer, side-by-side with source code? I think TeXstudio and Texmaker are very good LaTeX editors on Windows too. I pr...

need help: opening an old .tex on a new Texmaker

Hi Carlo, welcome to the forum! Let's skip the warnings for now and look at the errors to get your document compilable. I always tackle the first error, since following errors can simply be a consequence of the first one. "LaTeX Error: Command \textcurrency unavailable in encoding T1" poin...

Hello Harry,

welcome to the forum!

You could use the automake option:

LyX dispaying incorrect characters in Math Mode - Linux Mint Topic is solved

Did you install LyX from a (Ubuntu?) repository or from http://www.lyx.org? Perhaps check the download page for a Debian package that can be installed. (such as by dpkg -i lyx.deb ) It seems to be a LyX issue since it's find in the pdfLaTeX output, or a Mint font rendering issue. If there's a newer ...

LyX dispaying incorrect characters in Math Mode - Linux Mint Topic is solved

Hi Jimmy, welcome to the forum! Is it a LyX displaying issue, or is the PDF output wrong too? Can you please post a sample .lyx file, the pdfLaTeX export file (for us LaTeX users without LyX to check the same), and the .log file? The Attachments link is below the text edit field, when writing a post...

Defining a Local Style (Not in Preamble) to Add Arrowhead at a point on line Topic is solved

Hi Faseeh, in that post, the style and options are defined locally and not in the preamble. The style won't work in another tikzpicture : \documentclass{article} \usepackage{tikz} \usetikzlibrary{decorations.markings} \begin{document} \begin{tikzpicture} [ nodewitharrow/.style 2 args={ decoration={ ...
