Re: Configuration for Dia Conversion on a Mac

This page explains how to set up LyX to convert Dia files to PDF on Windows machines. How does one do this on a Mac? Thanks, Scott. But when I do this I get an error message: "No information for converting dia format files to eps. Define a converter in the preferences." Any idea how to do...

Section Numbering with Memoir Class & Article option

I am using the Memoir class with the article class option. In LyX I choose Document > Settings > Document Class, where I set the document class to "Book (Memoir)" and add " article, oneside " to the Custom: field of Class options. In the LaTeX preamble, I input a number of format...

Re: Case Differentiation with two Rows and one Column

I did some more snooping and now see that LyX is inserting a "&" between the two elements in the cases environment. I need to change this to a LaTeX newline, "\\". But I don't know how. How does one do this in LyX?

Case Differentiation with two Rows and one Column

Hi, I'm relatively new to LyX and am spending more time than I should trying to do something that should be very simple. In my formula I want to have a curly bracket followed by two items stacked vertically. The cases environment seems to offer this capability, but I've been unable to get it to work...

Strings w/ underscores passed strings \includegraphics

I am trying to make a package that provides a command to insert a graphics file having a complex name but the user only has to specify a pre-defined short synonym for the file. For example, suppose we have several files with names like "Hello_World_9_375_4C_27.pdf." I want either to create...

Re: %<*example> ... %</example>

Thanks Thorsten. I'd already read the first two items on your list, although I did not know the second one is packaged as a tutorial. I also was unfamiliar with makedtx and sty2dtx. I can see how they would be very useful. Fortunately, this initial project is deliberately small. So I learned a good ...

Hello, I am putting the finishing touches on my first package by writing a dtx file containing the documentation. The latter includes a simple example of a .tex file using the package. I tried following the example of http://mirrors.med.harvard.edu/ctan/macros/latex/contrib/lastpage/lastpage.dtx. At...

Separating Underlined Column Heads

Hi, I have a table in which I want two adjacent column heads to be underlined, but the underline should not be continuous between the two columns. For example, suppose each column is 2cm wide and they are separated by 0.5cm of inter-column space. The underlines should each be 2cm wide and separated ...
