Re: Special Characters in Name of Input File

Your problem is broader than LaTeX. LaTeX is not able to encode such special characters within commands like \input or \includegraphics (although the grffile package can sometimes be of help for the latter). Personally I would just stick to the conventional characters [a-z][A-Z][0-9], - and _ in fil...

Re: Make custom template

For TeXShop, although I'm not experienced with that editor, you can use templates. In fact, it is described in the documentation. You can read it here, have a look at section 1.14 (Modifying the Templates Menu)

Re: long caption in list of figures and tables

Please provide a minimal working example. I always thought that the line breaking in these lists was done automatically.

Re: Make custom template

That may be possible depending on the editor you are using. So tell us a bit more about that your editor. Also, with 'template' do you mean just the preamble or the whole layout of your document (including \begin{document}...\end{document} )? If it's just the preamble, I'd suggest to make a separate...

Re: Editor for OS X with Folder Structure View Topic is solved

How about Texmaker for Mac? I think Texmaker is one of the best free editors for OS X. Alternatively, you might like TeXstudio which is based on Texmaker.

If you're willing to pay for a (TeX) editor: I'm using Textmate on my Mac and I'm very satisfied with it.

Re: Generating a List of Symbols Topic is solved

Creating a nomenclature is often experienced to be difficult, since you need an extra 'tool' called makeindex when you compile the LaTeX document. Fortunately, the process is very well described on this community: have a look here . I've also written a post on how to create a nomenclature manually, ...

Re: Question regarding In Text page numbering Topic is solved

Not sure what you mean, but there is a \pageref command. Say you want to refer to the page on which the label sec:test is defined, you do the following:
  1. \pageref{sec:test}

Re: subfig | Two Labels, but only one Caption

This is done by using the subfig package, without assigning a caption between square brackets to the subfloat command: \documentclass[]{article} \usepackage{subfig} \usepackage{graphicx} \begin{document} \begin{figure} \centering \subfloat{\label{fig:fig1}\includegraphics[width=0.3\textwidth]{fig1}}...
