[beamer] customizing theme

Hi,

After reading a dozen or so tutorials I'm still confused about customizing a beamer theme. What I would like is the following:

- black miniframes navigation
- no subsections
- no footer
- no smooth transitions
- custom colors, let's say brown instead of the default blue
