While the dictionaries in http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Dictionaries are nice, it really isn't the same thing. :D
I hadn't noticed the 2.x limitation mentioned in the documentation, my bad. I did some digging(again) in the projects home page and finally found an old version for OOo 2.2 ...

Yeah, it's a (relatively) fresh install of open office.
Some observations:
The wordbook folder exists, but if i try to open the .dic file in it (it's just 1kb, so it probably is a placeholder), Texmaker complains "Error: Can't open the dictionary".

I've got the spell checker i need both in firefox and in open office, but there are no .dic files to be found. What is going on?
