TeXnicCenter tries to start package maintenance...
yeah I know !
and I know cmd etc.
I'm in the middle of the writing process and didn't had too much time to check the miktex commands.
And sorry that it seemed that I was asking for it.
It was more like a loud thinking (true I should have kept it...).
but there I have the same like in texniccenter ...

Re: TeXnicCenter tries to start package maintenance...
Thanks a lot for the suggestions.
But well I first have to figure out how to compile at the command line, never done it.
but I found already other people and for them it's the same.
Can I somehow not fix the ifxetex package manually??
Thanks for your help !!!!

TeXnicCenter tries to start package maintenance...
Hey guys,
I just ran the MiKTeX Updater.
Now when I want to compile I get:
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-1.40.10 (MiKTeX 2.8)
[...]
("C:\Program Files (x86)\MiKTeX 2.8\tex\generic\oberdiek\ifvtex.sty")

@localghost
Thank you for welcoming me. It's a great community here, I found already a lot of answers here. Hopefully I'll be learning quick, that I can contribute too.
I actually really read the board rules. They were pretty long.
Sorry I forgot about that point to mark the problem solved.

AMSmath is not working, but why ???
Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to LaTeX, so I can not figure out why AMSmath is not working.
I can not use e.g. \mathscr{N}. In the PDF is just a normal N.
\setlength{\mathindent}{0mm} and \makeatletter
\setlength{\@mathmargin}{0mm}
\makeatother don't work neither.
My "settings":
