Please, consider small example.

Two files:
dummy.tex (empty)
main.tex

main.tex:

Xe(La)TeX does not work with other encodings but with utf8 only

Is it really not possible to work with xelatex and "cp1251" encoding?

We really tied to "cp1251":

A lot of sources with ten years history under CVS
Our team used TexnicCenter v1. (non-UTF).
BTW, TexnicCenter-2 that ...

I have problem with processing with XeLaTeX files in Cyrillic "cp1251" encoding.
Let's consider attached minimal working sample (see attached file for consistency).

\usepackage{xecyr}
\XeTeXdefaultencoding "cp1251"
\XeTeXinputencoding "cp1251"
\usepackage[english ...

Still no workaround for the bug?

I process these files with latex and pdflatex, and all "insides"
(documentclass, ifpdf, hyperref setiing, macroses and so on) are
hidden from ...

Yes, I save in UTF8 without BOM (= plain ASCII)/

I attached all test files (source, logs, aux, …) zipped…

I have full installation of Miktex 2.8.
This is my minimal working sample:


\documentclass{beamer}
\XeTeXdefaultencoding "UTF-8"
\begin{document}
\end{document}


This sample compiled by xelatex results to one waste page with
"@safe@act @safe@act" (see PDF attached).

Same problem if ...

I don't have access to the Calibri font right now
Same problem with «Candara», «Consolas», «Courier New», «Comic Sans MS» (with any existing font).

But I have 3 computers, almost identical with full MikTeX 2.8 available and identical set of Windows fonts, and
* One computer — this test OK.
* Two ...
