Hello, I have texlive 2009 with revtex4-1 in my ubuntu. But when I compile an revtex4-1 document, the command \footnote{} is not recognized so I cannot put footnotes in my article. When I try to use this command I get "there are undefined citations" and the .pdf comes out as [? ] and the footnote ...

Thanyou, but it didn't work! when I try to install ttlmgr with "apt-get install ttlmgr" it says it cannot find the package, and when I try "apt-get install revtex revtex4" it says the same thing. I installed texlive and texlive-publishers, shouldn't that already contain these packages? I also ...

Now I removed the texlive and texlive publishers with "sudo apt-get autoremove" and tried to reinstall them with "sudo apt-et install". I made things even worse because now I not only get the message "revtex4.cls' not found" but also "revtex4.1.cls' not found" when I try using revtex4.1.
