hi, I am new to the downloaded phd thesis template. How to start a new chapter , say chapter 2. What are the essential steps ? Thx in advance. BTW, I am using texstudio, Miktex, Jabref, Window 10.

Thx for your guidaance. May I know , after I downloaded the Ctan's xstring zip file, where should I unzip the files in the MikTex directory. Which folder should it be?? Thx again!

I forgot to mention that I am using TexStudio 2.11.0 with Miktex 2.9 in Window 10. Should I migrate to Tex Live 2016?
