Why doesn't TexnicCenter have a good word count facility? I don't think it has a simple word count option presently. Does it? I hoe the developers would look into it since word count is a necessity for guys submitting papers to scientific conferences.

Is it possible to count the number of words in a .tex file in TexnicCenter? I seem to be unable to find this feature. Can someone suggest if it is possible, if so how?

Also, I would like to know how does the word count work? Does it count the words used in writing a math equation or ...

I think I was a little silly to have not exported the pdf file that I used to generate after compiling the Lyx code. Now that I have exported the pdf file using File-->Export-->PDF(PDFLatex ), the pdf document can open up the video file that I linked to it.

I just wanted to add that I am using Lyx latest release in Windows 2000. I am unable to link to a video .avi file in the pdf generated using the beamer presentation class in Lyx.

The command I used was \href{vide.avi}{Movie} by inserting a Latex code in Lyx.

I tried to insert a video in a Lyx document by using the \href command as

\href{run:video.avi}{Movie}

but in the pdf file when I click the link the video does not play.
Anything I am missing?

I have changed the background now by following what u suggested , it was simple. Just had to change the text background also to the same background color.

Dear all,

I need to change the background color of TexniCenter. Is there a way by which one can change the entire background color to black? Maybe the fonts could be light blue? I don't want to change only the text background but the full background should get changed.
