It does contain the \usepackage{pstricks} line. Must be something else. Here is part of the figure where the trouble starts:

Many thanks, that would probably help but I had many errors and it was hard to figure out where to start. So, I created another tex file using the same preamble as I did in 2012 using a PC with windows 7, MikTex 2.9 and Winedt and added bits of text a few pages at a time. I did this using the iMAC ...
