I have migrated to to Lyx 2.3 on a different computer than the one I originally wrote my document on.
I had a .bib file generated with Jabref and I simply copied this file over to the new computer.
However, during compilation Lyx is trying to read the .bib from the old path (on the ...

I'm trying to make some figure captions appear on the right hand side of the figures so I don't have to modify my text all the time. I have installed the sidecap module and added the package in the pre-ample.
The installation is successful as I can do Insert --> Float --> Figure ...

Thanks Johannes. Indeed that was the problem.
My suggestion to anyone that reads this post is to set the document language (under the Document--> Settings) to the preferred language. Otherwise the spell checker might go as crazy as in my case.
Finally, at least in this example, the \\ is not needed ...

Dear all,

I'm trying to insert a numbered caption to a longtable as follows:
1) Create an empty first line in my table
2) Right click on the empty line --> Settings --> Caption on
3) Insert the caption text followed by an ERT with \\

Unfortunately, I get a 'Mispalced\noalign. Emergency stop' error ...

I was able to sort the problem. Now my preamble is minimal and tidy (for the time being)

My problem is that, after exporting my document to pdf, the click-able links to the figures/tables don't quite match the location of the figure/table! Instead, they seem to match more a section/subsection having the same numbering with ...
