If it really offers a live preview while typing it's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot. Seems extremely strange to me Lyx doesn't have this feature since it should be easy to implement something like that (just ERT and the math mode combined).

Hi everyone,
today I tested Lyx (worked with Kile before) and it looks good except for one big flaw: I'm used to type very quickly (changed the keyboard so that I had \, {, } with one keystroke) so I can't get used to Lyx' math mode (working with cursor keys :-( ), but the ERT possibility looks good ...
