Yes, Thanks so much, That fixed it.
I didn't realise i was putting it as a caption. I thought I was puttting it as a figure. I moved it outside of the caption and wrote appropriatley in the caption box and it works.

Hi all,
I have a LilyPond inset inside a float:Figure. Im getting the error
Undefined control sequence.
Argument of \@caption has an extra }.
Paragraph ended before \@caption was complete.

If I just have the lilypond inset by itself it works fine.

Can anyone help please?

So Im new to Lyx, and want to include Lilypond snippets in my report, but Im getting an error:
"An error occurred while running pdflatex "project_name.lytex"".

I believe I don't have the convertor set up correctly in tools->preferences->File Handling->Convertors.

LyX is some kind of editor, think of it as an assistent or your personal driver. But you still need an engine to run. This is a TeX distribution. TeX Live is available for almost all OSes, MikTeX is a Windows only distribution. You need to install one of the two.
