I've typed up a document now in LaTex and would like to check how many words.
I am unable to find a button to select, or any other such options.
So I found TeXcount, which is installed with my LaTex version, but I can't use it?
Any ...

Re: Texmaker won't compile?
Thank you for the reply.
Not sure how to save the file explicitly? I have saved the file the normal way with Texmaker > File > Save > Enter.
I don't think I have texlive?
I have Texmaker 4.0.3.

Texmaker won't compile?
Hi,
I have compiled several files now, however I have just copied a working tex file and made a new Texmaker file and pasted the code.
When I press F1, I receive error Log File not found !
I tried:
$ sudo apt-get remove texmaker.
$ sudo apt-get install texmaker.
Same issue.
Any suggestions?

Re: 1st time on LaTex
Thank you for the reply.
This was smooth installing from the Software Manager.
However, I am unable to compile the template.tex or helloworld.tex file.
I click the LaTex Quick Build Run button and error: Could not start the command.
I already have VIM install on Linux.
I'm researching this now.

Hi, I'm a LaTex noob.
After researching the Internet and http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/LaTeX I still have a question some experienced users might be able to clarify.
Can LaTex be used on Linux?
I have heard LaTex can only used on Windows, however I would prefer to use Linux.
