Thanks for your answer. It seems that it's working alright for you then.
When I run the same code, and look at the pdf output in Adobe reader, I get:
20130620 adobe reader.png

And in Mac Preview, I get:
20130620 osx Preview.png

But again, the original pdf of the image exported ...
