Re: Figure on separate page
Well, I solved my own problem. For those interested, it was based on a dumb mistake: not resizing the image appropriately. For those who want their figures to share the page with text: the image has to be small enough to fit on one half of the page, no bigger (I believe).

Re: Figure on separate page
Thanks for your reply.
However, I'd rather not post the class file, and I don't really know how to make a test case.
The strange thing is: the figure is in a child document, and when I compile the child document (using article), the image shares the page with the text. When I compile the parent ...

Figure on separate page
Hi all,
I'm having a problem placing a figure into my document. I am using a modified dissertation class, which must be part of the problem.
When I insert an image, no matter how small I make it, the figure always prints as a separate page (the page following the text where the figure float is ...

Re: Crash on pdf2 preview error
I have managed to find the source of the error, by methodically deleting sections of the faulty subdocument in order to weed out the guilty element.
It has to do with an attempted cross-reference, using BibTex, that didn't seem to work and crashed LyX a week earlier (I'm not sure why). The strange ...

Crash on pdf2 preview error
I managed to take a screenshot of the "View messages" log just before LyX crashes. Is there anything in here that gives a clue to the source of the error?

Re: Crash on pdf2 preview error
I just installed 2.0.7.1, but unfortunately I got the same error message and crash:
"Error previewing format: pdf2"
Can anyone tell me how to access the log files, or somehow or other figure out what is making the error/crash?

Re: Crash on pdf2 preview error
Hi Scott,
Sorry, I forgot to include the version. I'm using 2.0.6 on a Mac. I was hesitant to upgrade to 2.0.7, because I heard about some issues with the Mac version. I guess I should try it first, though.
I'll do that, unless anyone else has any recommendations.

Crash on pdf2 preview error
Hi all,
I've been writing my dissertation using LyX, and I've been very happy with it so far. However I have an annoying problem now that I need some help in resolving. (I am semi-experienced with LyX, but really don't know much about what goes on "under the hood"...)

SIGSEGV signal caught
I've just had the same crash when exiting Fullscreen. I'm not sure if this will help, but here's the Apple crash report (I don't know how to use gdb, sorry):
