If your image file EPS was created using Gnuplot, you can try this. Open it with any text editor (I use vim). In this file, find the line:
SDict begin [
/Title (2.eps)
/Subject (gnuplot plot)
/Creator (gnuplot 4.4 patchlevel 3)
/Author (d)
% /Producer (gnuplot)
% /Keywords ()
/CreationDate ...
