I've updated the template on LaTeX Templates to v1.3 which corresponds to v0.9.7 on GitHub. The Tex Live 2021 bug is fixed, but I just checked the issue in this thread on GitHub and Federico provided a solution there.

For this template, I would rather not make code changes myself since Federico is ...

Hmm very weird, I opened the compiled template in Acrobat and that does indeed happen. However, in Preview and Google Chrome on my Mac that 'Who Am I?' heading is plain text as it should be. Maybe it's an Acrobat bug?

You can also download an older version of that package and put it in the same directory as the template and it should be preferentially used.

Hi Ben,

I just downloaded the current version of the template from the site and ran ./compileall.sh in Terminal and it compiled just fine. I'm using TeX Live 2020 on a Mac. Is your LaTeX distribution up to date? Often problems like what you pasted are solved by updating.

I've just updated the template to v1.3 to remove that line.

I just updated my TeX Live distribution (2019) and you're right that the following error comes up on compilation:

./awesome-cv.cls:166: LaTeX3 Error: Command '\FA' already defined!

For immediate help type H <return>.
...

I didn't get any other errors ...

Thanks for posting about this! Unfortunately I can't be everywhere at once so it's very useful when users report that templates are no longer working after a new release so I can fix things up quickly.

Hey,

You could always make a new document using the template which contains just the exercises and answers. If you'd like the answers to be styled differently, find where the exercise style is defined, clone it and modify it to look how you'd like.
