Update: I just looked into my .aux file and it gives me the following line for my citation:

\bibcite{Merz1994}{{1}{}{{}}{{}}}

Shouldn't it feature additional data like Author, Year, etc.? I am not sure whether this additional piece of information is useful. Once more; Help would be very much ...
