I recently upgraded LyX from 2.1.1 to 2.2.1. Unfortunately, none of the three main example CVs given (Modern, EU, and Simple) in the LyX Wiki will even open in the new version of LyX. I am on a 64 bit machine using Windows 10.

Has anyone been able to get the standard CV templates to open in the new ...

Is there a more modern class you would recommend that would let me achieve a CV that looks similar to the one I linked to?

I'm writing my resume in res class and there is an unpleasant amount of white space between the section titles and the the content of each section. In particular, I would like my CV to look something more like this:

It seems like I have the option to automatically title my PDF "Curriculum Vitae." How do I do this?

Ok, here is the attached file. According to Windows explorer is 1.37 kb and not size-zero. I have no idea why it will not work without any words in the body of the document.

Ok, I can get it to work with text in the document. However, if I leave no text in the document I get the following error:
