I found a solution to the question I posted earlier, in case any one else has this problem.
You have to install MikTex 2.7 BEFORE you install Texniccenter. I couldn't find a way to point the existing Texniccenter to a newly installed MikTex folder. Maybe there's a way, but I couldn't find it ...

I'm having the same problem. I used to use MikTex 2.5 + TeXnicCenter 1 Beta 7.01. Then I upgraded and downloaded MikTeX 2.7 (removing the 2.5 version first).
