Help with hyphenation
Hello,
I need to stop one instance of one word from hyphenating. Any ideas? The word "radio" in one of my captions is hyphenating in the "list of figures" and it is not allowed by my department. The word is being hyphenated as "ra-dio". I would prefer to just "fix" this one instance, with no ...

Help with hyphenation
How can I stop hyphenation in my TOC, list of figures, and list of tables, but keep it on the rest of my dissertation? I would prefer to not have to use a package that I'm not already using since the rest of the dissertation is correctly formatted and I don't want to risk changing something in the ...

Re: Problems with margins
Can't believe how dumb I am. You are right, it wasn't the conversion to PDF but the way I was printing the PDF.
Thanks
Thanks

Problems with margins
Good morning,
I'm having some formatting issues. I'm using Winshell as my editor. When I create a document and view/print it using DVI, my margins are correct. When I create the document, convert to PS and then PDF, my margins change by about 1/8 of an inch.
Any idea what is going on?

need help with referencing figures in appendices
I'm writing my dissertation and need help with appendices. My knowledge of Latex is very limited.
When I reference a figure, equation or a table in my appendices, I get an extra space (i.e. A .1 or B .4). For my regular chapters,
