Hi Darko,

welcome to the forum!

The imgshare.io links are dead, no images there. But you can post the images here as attachments. The "Attachments" link is below the text edit field, when you write a post.

Extra space after \ref with tables/figures Topic is solved

Looks like these commands are causing it: \renewcommand{\thefigure}{\arabic{figure}\enspace } \renewcommand{\thetable}{\arabic{table}\enspace } You can redefine it yourself in your document preamble. However, if it's the journal template, it has to be their style, even if you consider it as wrong......

Move table of contents to the left hand side

Yes, I just guess oneside is already removed as Susie talked about right hand pages. But we cannot know without code. :)

Move table of contents to the left hand side

Hi Susie,

in one of your previous posts I saw you used this:

\documentclass[12pt,a4paper, oneside, openright]{report}

Remove the openright option or replace it by openany (default with report).

How can I write a matrix with more than 10 columns?

Internally, amsmath uses an array environment with a number of columns set to MaxMatrixCols . That is a counter, intially set to 10. That's usually enough, but in case we need bigger matrices, we can modify the counter, also globally, by \setcounter{MaxMatrixCols}{<value>} . Here, we set the MaxMatr...

Small Caps don't work with the name "Nigel" Topic is solved

Ijon's suggestion looks good, I would extend it a bit do prevent the other ligatures too, with small caps: \documentclass[]{article} \usepackage[]{fontspec} \setmainfont[]{Garamond Libre}[SmallCapsFeatures= {Ligatures={NoRequired,NoCommon,NoDiscretionary,NoHistoric,NoContextual}}] \begin{document} \...

Small Caps don't work with the name "Nigel" Topic is solved

Indeed, \setmainfont[]{Garamond Libre}[Ligatures=NoRequired] also changes that. Just for testing, I would not do that globally just because there's an issue with some specific word in small caps. I would use what Ijon said, I guess I would make a macro \Nigel for this if it occures several times in ...

What is new in the second edition of the LaTeX Beginner's Guide? Topic is solved

When I took the chance to rewrite the book, one of the goals was to improve the image quality. Though much has changed in LaTeX since 2011, so I also worked on the actual content and code. After 10 years, Internet addresses changed, some services are gone and new services appeared. I also could get ...

How can I put two images next to each other? Topic is solved

I prefer using the subcaption package, since it's the perfect companion to the excellent caption package by the same author. Here is a quick example: \documentclass{article} \usepackage{graphicx} \usepackage{subcaption} \begin{document} \begin{figure}[ht] \subcaptionbox*{First subfigure}[.45\linewid...
