Alignment errors Topic is solved

Hi, yes, it's using curly braces. By the way, I see that you use sans-serif headings. That is a good decision. I would just not use text formatting commands in headings. I recommend using scrartcl as document class, which automatically has sans-serif headings since it's a more modern design. It also...

help to dram this diagram

Hi,

welcome to the forum!

I think, I would use a matrix of nodes, and then draw the arrows between the matrix nodes.

Update: Solution found // Help! Elementary teacher flummoxed by LaTeX Topic is solved

Yes, no LaTeX, here, it's the Word or Google formula displaying. LaTeX would not make such an erratic spacing around relation and operator symbols. Look at the asymmetric space around the equal sign, and the different spacing considering the two multiplication symbols. LaTeX is like: \documentclass[...

Update: Solution found // Help! Elementary teacher flummoxed by LaTeX Topic is solved

Hi Jennifer, welcome to the forum! I saw your tweet (and retweeted it to get more readers). I don't see LaTeX code here. I don't see LaTeX involved at all, not with Word and not with Google docs. Not sure how we can help from the LaTeX side then. Our fellow LaTeX friends may of course, recommend doi...

Book publishing tutorials

Hi Lloyd, welcome to the forum! That sounds like a great project. Did you write "Build It With Nitrogen: The Fast-Off-the-Block Erlang Web Framework"? That's clearly LaTeX. Also, "Freein' Pancho" looks like LaTeX. I wrote some books about LaTeX , but not within LaTeX (the publish...

using edge in tikz II

Hi Kent,

the quotes are needed, but you could put them into the macro definition:

\def\mgElabel[#1,#2,#3,#4]{
\draw [#4] (#1) edge ["#3" {fill=gray!20,text=black,font=\bfseries}] (#2);
}

using edge in tikz II

Hi Kent,

not sure what you mean - in the output, or in the code? In the code "..." is a shortcut for a node syntax, so you can write

\draw (A) to ["text"] (C);

instead of

\draw (A) to node [sloped] {text} (C);
