Multicols is great but does not allow figures as far as I remember

Hi all,

I am currently working on a paper, but I need 2 columns for the text body, while only 1 large column for my abstract under the title, introducing some keywords under it as well. I usually simply used the following:
\begin{abstract}
...
\end{abstract}
but the result is placed within the ...
