subequation with equation
is it possible to have a "master" equation and then subequations below it? So in the example below, I'd like the number of equation that says no~letter to be (1), and then a to be (1a) and b to be (1b)
\begin{subequations}
hello
\beq
no~letter
\eeq
hi
\beq
a
\eeq
hi again
\beq
b
\eeq
\end ...
\begin{subequations}
hello
\beq
no~letter
\eeq
hi
\beq
a
\eeq
hi again
\beq
b
\eeq
\end ...

beamer | Problem with References
Hi,
When creating a beamer class document with references, the file compiles correctly once (leaving ``?"'s at the reference sites) but then the second time through it won't compile.

./nstalk.tex:147: Undefined control sequence
\beamer@todo ...ust \edef \inerttocsectionnumber ...

superscript within \multirow
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum, and a quick search did not return any solutions to this problem. If there is an old thread with the answer feel to drop that in. Thanks!
