I use `\footnotemark` and `\footnotetext` now which do work as intended.

can you please paste your result with the `footnote` package and `epigraph`.

my try is this

\begin{savenotes}
\epigraph{«But...»\footnote{Test}}
\end{savenotes}


but this doesn't compile :cry:

if i do this in an isolated document, it works, but not in my paper. The error goes like "Extra ...
