Hello friends,
I am no engineer. I am a legal scholar, who is determined to learn latex using texmaker. I simply like how it produces texts.
So far, I have learned how to set the preamble, to add sections, etc. But for the life of me I have not been able to add references to my text. I have read multiple tutorials and watched several youtube videos, which have been fruitless. I only use the Chicago manual of style using footnotes to add the references.
Tell me, please, is there a simple guide you know of that can help me do this by explaining it to me like I am a 3 yo?
Thank you.

Welcome,
there are several ways, but we doon't know what you are using.
Please refer to http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/ ... ion-number
If that does not help, please prepare a minimal working example so we know the details of your environment.

The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
