### Derivatives in Beamer

This seems to be the same problem as the here: fontspec/mathspec ruins my parentheses with beamer. The solution outlined there works here as well:

% arara: xelatex\documentclass{beamer} \AtBeginDocument{%  \DeclareSymbolFont{pureletters}{T1}{lmss}{\mddefault}{it}%  } \begin{document}\begin{frame}$f'(x).$\end{frame}\end{document}

AFAIK it is not a good idea to use fontenc with XeLaTeX.
