Custom Symbol as Caption Separator

Postby gmsotavio » Mon Jan 14, 2013 1:19 am

Hello

I have a simple question. How to redefine the float caption separator to \textbar symbol. I tried the caption package, but it provide just a few non customizable options for sep, which doesn't include custom symbols.

Regards!

Obviously you missed to read Section 4 of the package manual and the explanations for the \DeclareCaptionLabelSeparator command.
  1. \documentclass[11pt]{article}
  2. \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
  3.
  4. \usepackage{caption}
  5. \DeclareCaptionLabelSeparator{bar}{ | }
  6. \captionsetup{
  7. labelsep=bar
  8. }
  9.
  10. \begin{document}
  11. \begin{figure}[!ht]
  12. \centering
  13. \rule{6.4cm}{3.6cm}
  14. \caption{Dummy figure}
  15. \label{fig:dummy}
  16. \end{figure}
  17. \end{document}

Hello all,

I have this issue;
How can I remove dots from tables and figures numbers in the list of figures and tables?
For example, I want Figure 1.1: to be Figure 1.1
